“Can political and legal stability be a political problem? Is it possible that what seems to be the goal and the best fruit of good policy can lead to degeneration of the political system, injustice and crisis? How does stability relate to conflicts and deep divisions within Western societies? Has history known political crises similar to the one tearing Western societies apart today? Have effective solutions ever been found to deal with the toxic side effects of stability? If so, what did they consist of? Can we apply them to our problems? This is a list of questions I will try to answer in my lecture.”<\/p>\n
Dariusz Kar\u0142owicz \u2013 philosopher, lecturer, publicist, book publisher. Co-founder and editor-in-chief of the philosophical yearbook \u201cTeologia Polityczna\u201d and president of the Saint Nicholas Foundation. In 1997, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (thesis under the supervision of Professor Juliusz Doma\u0144ski). In 2005, he published the book \u201cSocrates and Other Saints\u201d, which deals with the philosophical foundations of the ideas represented by the early Christians and the Fathers of the Church. The book resonated with the public and received positive reviews in both the Catholic and the large-circulation mainstream press. In 2017, the book was translated into English under the title \u201cSocrates and Other Saints: Early Christian Understandings of Reason and Philosophy\u201d. Co-founder and initiator of the St. John Paul II Institute of Culture at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum), established on the centenary of Karol Wojtyla\u2019s birth.<\/p>\n
